Sri Lankan Inland Revenue Department Executive Education Workshop at Deakin University Melbourne
#SNNI Melbourne
Last week, members of the Sri Lankan Inland Revenue Department convened with Deakin staff at the Melbourne Burwood Campus for an executive education workshop. Dr Luckmika Perera from Deakin Business School was the key organiser of the event, with a special mention to Athula Pathinayake as the co-organiser.
After a welcome from Professor Mike Ewing – Executive Dean and Pro Vice Chancellor for the Faculty of Business and Law – the five-day program proceeded with a series of lectures covering a range of topics surrounding tax and Australian economics, which were delivered by Deakin Business and Law staff as well as speakers from organisations such as Research Coaching Australia, the Victorian State Revenue Office and the Australian Tax Office.
Attendees took the opportunity to network with their peers and participated in an official delegation dinner with guest of honour the Honourable Prasanna Gamage – Consulate General of Sri Lanka – and a keynote speech from Ali Noroozi – Former Inspector General of Tax for the Australian Federal Government.
The event was held at the Burwood Corporate Centre from November 20–26 and concluded with an awards ceremony followed by closing remarks from Professor Alex Newman – Associate Dean International for Deakin Business School – and Athula Pathinayake – Director of the Centre on the Legal Profession, Deakin Law School. We would like to thank all involved with the workshop and those who attended. #SNNI Melbourne — with Dilkie Perera and 4 others.
